Use this guide to understand why your design shows that the QR Code is not scannable in the QR Batch web application.
It could be because of the following reasons:
- Size of the QR Code: The QR Code could be too small for the phone camera to identify the data modules. Please see this guide: Find the ideal size for your QR Code
- Scanning Distance: Make sure the QR Code fits into the screen of the QR Code scanning application when you are trying to scan the QR Code. This means that there should be a reasonable distance between the QR Code and the camera
- Print Surface: QR Codes don't scan easily if they are printed on uneven or curved surfaces. Ideally, the QR Code should always be square-shaped both to the naked eye and the scanning application. If you've printed the QR Code on a curved surface, the QR Code may have become rectangular
-
Custom Design: If you added custom design to your QR Code then that could have affected the scannability. Generally, a large logo or a poor contrast affects the scannability. Please see the below suggestions to understand this better:
- Decrease the size of the logo
- Increase the contrast between the color of the QR Code and the background. This means lightening the background and darkening the QR Code colors (eye and data)
- Data Encoded: Static QR Code created with a large amount of data (high number of characters) then sometimes that QR Code might not be properly readable through cameras with lower resolution. Generally, the data encoded should be kept at a moderate level. And, the higher the amount of data, the lower should be the design customization
